Mahendra Singh Dhoni has allegedly been defrauded of Rs 15 crore.

Former India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has filed a criminal case his ex-business partners from a sports management company over a deal gone wrong where the batter-wicket keeper was allegedly defrauded of Rs 15 crore. The complaint has been filed against officials of Aarka Sports Management.

Dhoni, represented by Advocate Dayanand Singh of Vidhi Associates, alleges that Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash, representing the company, failed to adhere to the terms of the agreement signed in 2017.

The agreement, aimed at establishing a global cricket academy, outlined obligations for Aarka Sports, including the payment of a franchise fee and the sharing of profits. However, Dhoni’s lawyers claimed that these terms were not honoured, leading to a breakdown in the professional relationship.

Despite repeated attempts to address the issues, including legal notices and reminders, Dhoni revoked the authority letter granted to Aarka Sports Management on August 15, 2021. Singh, Dhoni’s lawyer, asserted that they were left with no choice but to take legal action, citing deception and cheating on the part of the company.
