Several passengers who were set to take a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Patna were left frustrated after the flight got delayed for over seven hours. The delay in flight SG-8721/STD caused a ruckus as agitated passengers were left stranded at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital.
In a video released on X (formerly Twitter), a woman passenger could be seen screaming at the phone, urging an official to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
The video, which saw several retweets and likes, also saw many user comments who were also critical of such a long flight delay.
"Seven-hours delay is too much. Anyone will get upset. Calling passenger behavior as "creating nuisance" is totally unacceptable," one user wrote.
"This is not the first time they are always late many time they cancel the flight at the last hour, pathetic airlines, moreover the airline staff now a days behave like goons its with every airline, they don't have manners to talk to their customers," another user wrote.
"What do you expect from the ground staff working under the sub-contractor. They are trained to lie. If the flight is delayed for 5 hours they will announce every one hour," a third user wrote.
Later, SpiceJet issued a statement saying that the passengers were informed about the change in schedule.
"Today's SpiceJet Delhi-Patna flight SG 8721 has already landed at its destination. The flight's departure had been revised last night and passengers had been duly informed about the revised departure time at 12.40 a.m. last night itself so that they could accordingly plan their travel to the airport," the statement read.
