The new rules for packaging for consumer goods that were passed by the Parliament last year will finally be applicable from November 1. Products across 19 categories including rice, wheat, non alcoholic beverages, baby food, cereals and biscuits will now have to conform to set pack sizes - like 50 gms, 75gms and 100gms.

This has been done to prevent the discontinuity and likely experimentation in TV viewership in the four metros as they attempt to get fully digitised by the month end.
CNBC-TV18's Animesh Das and Pavni Mittal find out how this decision will affect the buying patterns of advertisers especially in the middle of festive season.
