A rare view of Mount Everest from Bihar’s Madhubani district captured the internet’s attention after clear skies made the Himalayan range visible from Jainagar, a small town near the India–Nepal border.

The video, originally shared on X by user Satyam Raj, showed the distant snow-covered peaks faintly visible against the horizon. “View of the majestic Himalayas as seen from Jainagar, Madhubani, Bihar,” Raj wrote in his post, which has since gone viral.

Speaking to HT.com, Raj said the footage was recorded on October 6, 2025 by a friend visiting her relatives in Jainagar. “Her relatives are from Jainagar and she had gone there to visit them," he explained. “Himalayas are visible from that region whenever the weather is clear. It had rained that day which made the visibility even better,” he added.

Several users reacted to the clip, expressing astonishment at the sight of the world’s tallest mountain from so far away. One commenter noted, “Mt Everest is 170 km distance from Jainagar… really fascinating how far it is visible. What you are seeing is the entire width of Nepal.”
