Parle-G is a beloved biscuit in India and it is safe to say that almost everyone has eaten it at least once. The biscuit, which is 85-years-old, is famous as a tea-time snack and is one of the best-selling brands in the country. So, when a picture of a new variant of Parle-G, “Dark Parle-G”, started doing the rounds of the internet, it obviously sparked a frenzy on X.
Several social media users started speculating about the chocolate flavour of the iconic biscuit and set the microblogging site abuzz with memes and discussions around the same. X was absolutely flooded with memes and posts despite no confirmation from Parle Products.
Some people even started putting out fictional reviews of the non-existent product on X.
As the original tweet gained traction and close to 10 lakh views, social media users posted their thoughts and expressed their opinions on X. While some people were quite excited for the release of a new flavour after so many years, others were not very impressed and rooted for the original. A section of people believed that the picture was either edited or AI-generated.
"My childhood is ruined now," a user wrote. Another user commented, "Nice, must be with chocolate."
"Generated by Gemini AI," a third user remarked. "Haven't seen it anywhere, it is definitely edited," a fourth user added.
