A post on X by Indian business figure TV Mohandas Pai claimed that a recent flight on Air India X (flight IX 2142) was marred by “crude, badly behaved, sloppy service” from the air hostesses. The tweet demanded action, stating that the behaviour was “very shocking” and that the crew failed to extend even basic courtesy.
The post read: “Lousy service by air hostesses on @AirIndiaX flight IX 2142. Crude, badly behaved, sloppy service. Arguing with passenger, Please take action against the air hostesses. Very shocking behaviour. When is the co-training staff better @tatasons @AirIndiaX Not done. The least one can expect is a polite crew.”
The message went viral and drew a range of responses. Some users countered the criticism, commenting: “Not my experience… I find most of them friendly and eager to help.”
Another wrote: “Air India is definitely the worst. I have noticed their air hostess being rude for absolutely no reason. Happened yesterday as well.” Others expanded the criticism into a broader condemnation of the airline, saying: “Air India is definitely going from bad to worse overall. Glitch in their apps, extremely poor service devoid of basic courtesies, abrupt cancellations, etc; makes it unfit. High time it is totally revamped.”
Meanwhile, Pai, who is former senior executive at Infosys, has been active in the venture-capital and education sectors since leaving the company. He currently chairs Aarin Capital and Manipal Global Education.
