Abhay Soi has been credited with transforming Max Healthcare into India's second-largest listed hospital chain by revenue.

After US President Donald Trump announced his plans to introduce a $5 million gold card that would offer wealthy foreigners a chance to invest in the country and get citizenship, it received a mixed response from Indians on social media, with most declaring that they weren't interested in the option. Speaking to Forbes recently, Abhay Soi said he was not interested in moving from the country where he built his businesses. “I wouldn’t want to be a citizen of any country other than India anytime—particularly in this century,” he said. Soi is one of seven Indian billionaires polled by the publication, all of whom said they’re not interested in a gold card.

Interestingly, Soi has been recognised as one of India’s highest individual taxpayers for the fiscal year 2022-23, after having paid approximately Rs 400 crore in income tax. The income tax department in Mumbai even held an event to facilitate Soi for his significant contribution to nation-building.
