Mark Zuckerberg has recently said that Apple's mobile platform has limited Meta's "creativity to build the best things" and that is "soul-crushing" to have Apple hinder their plans because they view his company as a rival.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Zuckerberg also opened up about Meta's AI strategy which revolves around open sourcing its artificial intelligence models. In other words, the Meta CEO is working towards providing "the post powerful tech for free".

Zuckerberg believes that this open-source model will position Meta as a counterbalance to companies that lock customers into proprietary software. "I want us to build and have more control over the next set of platforms. So we're making these big investments to control our destiny," he said.

His goal appears to be to control the next generation of technological platforms such as operating systems for virtual reality devices and AI assistants.
