Kensington Palace on Sunday released the first official photo of the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, since her abdominal surgery in January. The picture, taken by Prince William at Windsor earlier this week, shows Middleton with her three children -- princess Charlotte, prince Louis, and prince George.
"Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day," the post read.
Kate Middleton was spotted for the first time on March 4 since her planned abdominal surgery and subsequent "disappearance" that sent social media exploding with conspiracy theories. It marked the first time in over two months that the British royal has been seen in public.
In a statement shared on January 17, the Royal Family had announced that the Princess of Wales had undergone a planned abdominal surgery and would return to public duties only after Easter.
Before photographs of her near Windsor Castle emerged online on March 4, Middleton was last seen in public in December 2023 when she and her husband, Prince William, took their three children to a church service on Christmas.
The speculation about Middleton reached such massive proportions that Kensington Palace was forced to issue a rare statement to combat the rumours. “We always said that the Princess of Wales would be out until Easter, and we are not making any further comments… The Princess of Wales is still doing well,” a royal spokesperson told The Telegraph on March 1.
