Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt and widely recognised as a leading figure in India’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) industry, recently reflected on the personal sacrifices behind his professional success. Speaking on the podcast "Prakhar Pravachan", the entrepreneur and "Shark Tank India" judge shared candid insights into his journey, including the impact of his relentless work ethic on his role as a father.
Addressing the emotional cost of his entrepreneurial path, Gupta admitted he had missed several significant events in his daughter’s life. “I know I have missed out on many things in my daughter’s life,” he said during the podcast. “If I look back now, I realise how many events I have missed. However, I am very much okay with it and I don’t regret it at all. Had I not missed out on those occasions, my life would have been much different.”
He went on to underline that his achievements did not come without trade-offs. “I must have missed out on many things in life, but that is what it takes to reach such a level,” he added.
Gupta, who is married to Piya Dagar, is a father to two daughters, Adaa and Miraya. While his professional accomplishments are well known, his social media presence offers a glimpse into his life beyond the boardroom — often showcasing a devoted father and supportive husband.
One of his widely circulated videos on social media captured him dancing with his daughter to the song "My Money Don’t Jiggle Jiggle", set against a scenic mountain backdrop. The video, warmly received by his followers, was captioned: “When Adaa wants you to do something that’s trending, I can’t say no anyway to her…”
Born and raised in Delhi, Aman Gupta is a qualified chartered accountant. Despite his accounting credentials, he pursued his entrepreneurial ambitions and went on to co-found boAt, a company that has become a household name in India’s consumer electronics space.
