The time and duration of the match were also mentioned. Interestingly, Bhogle received a sum of Rs 350 for his debut as a cricket commentator.

"Four decades ago, on this day, I had my first ODI experience," Bhogle wrote in his viral post.

"I vividly recall the eager young man who was desperately seeking opportunities and the kind-hearted producer from DD-Hyderabad who gave him this break. The evening before the match, I sat on a roller, clad in a simple t-shirt, doing the curtain raiser. The following day, I had two commentary stints. Over the next 14 months, I had the opportunity to comment on two more ODIs and a test match. I am filled with gratitude,” he added.
