After a few jokes on “Oppenheimer’s” long duration, “Barbie” and Robert De Niro fathering a child at 80 failed to land, Koy went off-script and said, “Some I wrote, some other people wrote,” adding, “Yes, I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You’re kidding me right? Slow down, I wrote some of these and they are the ones you are laughing at.”

Social media, especially X, was abuzz with reactions to Koy’s jokes while hosting the Golden Globes. A majority of people were not very impressed and trolled the comedian for his “unfunny” gags and roasted him for "bombing" as a host.

"Jo Koy is the worst host ever," a user wrote. Another user commented, "Jo Koy is insufferable."
