India to project design, manufacturing prowess at Hannover

India's participation in the world's leading trade fair for industrial technology that is expected to attract over two lakh global leaders in business, technology, industrial scientists and policy makers this year stands as the most significant international statement the 'Make in India' programme has made to date.

India will showcase its design, innovation, manufacturing prowess at Hannover Messe, the world's largest industrial fair, apart from yoga, wellness and culture to woo German business to invest in the country.

India will be the partner country at the April 13-17 fair and will project India's brand image by incorporating many of the key core sectors of the Indian portfolio forming part of the 'Make in India' campaign.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Chancellor Merkel, will inaugurate the 'India Pavilion' of the fair tomorrow.

India will showcase its technological expertise and investment opportunities to the world, officials said. The fair is aimed at depicting India as a design, innovation, manufacturing and export hub. Modi and Merkel will tour the fairgrounds to view selected pavilions of the two nations.
