Govt examining inspection report on India Cements

"The inspection report is under examination," Corporate Affairs Minister Arun Jaitley said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. India Cements, which violated the provisions of Companies Act, relating to not furnishing particulars of employees in the report, was warned for its action.

The Corporate Affairs Ministry is examining the 'inspection report' on India Cements, which owns IPL team Chennai Super Kings, with regard to its books of accounts, Parliament was informed on Friday. "The inspection report is under examination," Corporate Affairs Minister Arun Jaitley said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. India Cements, which violated the provisions of Companies Act, relating to not furnishing particulars of employees in the report, was warned for its action.

Subsequently, books of accounts of India Cements were inspected and the inspection report is under examination, Jaitley added. Last month, a Supreme Court-appointed panel suspended IPL cricket franchisee of India Cements from the Indian Premier League for two years. The committee also suspended for life former BCCI president N Srinivsan's son-in-law and IPL team Chennai Super Kings' official Gurunath Meiyappan from involving with BCCI in any cricket matches.
