Condemning BJP for the porn clip controversy in Karnataka Assembly, Congress today said the Opposition party has lowered the image of politics and politicians by such acts and the incident showed the "hiatus" between preaching and practice by the Opposition party.

"To watch this kind of obscene video in the legislative assembly is not only unfortunate but also in a way lowering the image of politics and politicians. Respect for politicians is falling in these countries due to these very reasons. It looks BJP does not want to leave even one facet of corruption. This is BJP's real face," party spokesperson Rashid Alvi said.
Terming it as an issue of "moral corruption", Alvi said BJP has already excelled in all other forms of corruption whether it is bribe, illegal mining or land scams. He said it was "unfortnate" that BJP ministers were watching this in Assembly where people expect a resolution of their problems.
Another party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said,"from corruption to pornography they have the entire spectrum and range available in BJP in Karnataka. This shows the hiatus between preaching and practice by BJP".
Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal also took a dig at BJP over the episode, saying the party is having "all the entertainment". "Nowadays it appears that some of the BJP people are having all kinds of entertainment. Sometimes it is political entertainment. Sometimes it is entertainment of another sort," he told reporters in Delhi evoking peals of laughter.
Sibal also said the BJP, which "waxes eloquent on the issue of morality", will find the answers if they really look at their own members of the legislative assembly.
