The Srikrishna committee has made a case for a unified Andhra and said that separation of Telangana should occur only if it is unavoidable. The committee's report on Telangana, which was released by the government today, lists six options for the way forward for Andhra Pradesh.

One - maintain status quo but ensure that between the chief minister and deputy chief minister one should be from Telangana. The committee has said this is the least favoured option. The fifth option is bifurcation of the state into Telangana and Seemandhra as per existing boundaries with Hyderabad as the capital of Telangana and Seemandhra to develop a new capital. And the sixth option listed by the committee is keeping the state united but simultaneously providing constitutional measures for socio-economic development and political empowerment of Telangana region. This will also entail the creation of a statutorily-empowered Telangana regional council. So what has India Inc made of the recommendations of the Srikrishna panel? And what will be the ramifications of any decision by the Centre? In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Sudhir Reddy, CMD, IVRCL gave his perspective on the Telangana tangle. Below is a verbatim transcript. Also watch the accompanying video. Q: The report clearly leans towards a unified Andhra Pradesh.
