Govt may form JPC to probe 2G scam before budget

The government is likely to announce on a joint parliamentary committee to look into the 2G auctions before the budget session begins. The modalities and the terms of reference of the JPC are being worked upon, reports CNBC-TV18's Bhupendra Chaubey.

The eyeball to eyeball confrontation that one has been witnessing between the government and the opposition, for the last couple of months, is finally all set to end, with the government blinking. We are told by our highly placed sources, in the government that the government has decided that it will be making a formal announcement, of setting up of the Joint Parliamentary Committee probe, into the 2G scam, perhaps, on the very day the budget session begins or a day before the budget session.
