Assuring the nation that the massive power outage due to transmission grid failure will not recur, new Power Minister Veerappa Moily today said he has called a meeting of chief ministers of some of the affected states on August 6.

"Now, there is absolute normalcy... 100% restoration has taken place and I can reassure the entire nation that what has happened all these two-three days will not recur... Nothing will happen again," Moily said at a press conference here.
The meeting of chief ministers of eight states and administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh has been called on August 6.
"... We thought it fit and appropriate to convene a meeting of all the chief ministers of all affected eight states and one Union Territory on August 6 afternoon," Moily, who took charge today, said.
Pushing the country into the worst power crisis, Northern as well as Eastern and North Eastern grids collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, affecting lives of over 60 crore people.
This happened a day after the Northern Grid was restored following its failure on Monday.
Corporate Affairs Minister Moily, who has been given the additional charge of Power, said before the chief ministers' meeting, there would be a meeting of all state secretaries and principal secretaries (of power) on the same day.
"At this point of time, we don't want or start any blame game on any state either on overloading or whatever it is. Without co-operation of state and without cooperation of Centre, nothing can be done," he said.
