In a "peak Bengaluru" moment, a founder revealed that an intern at his company decided to give up the internship after his own AI startup received funding from a venture capitalist. Sharing a screenshot of the exchange on WhatsApp, Karthik Sridharan, the founder of Flexiple--which connects companies with software developers--said that an incident like this could have happened only in Bengaluru.
His post on X is now viral.
While social media users were impressed with the former intern's talents, many pointed out that he could have communicated the message to the boss better.
"Glad for the kid! Just hope someone guides him to get better at communications as well!" wrote entrepreneur and startup founder Abhimanyu Saxena (@asxna). "It’s great he got the funding! Exceptional, but I would advise him to be more courteous and communicate better! Life is a learning we all learn along! Wishing him the very best…. For the future," commented Karthik M Bhat (@ikarthikmb).
"No matter how young/inexperienced someone is, basic communication skills, respect for others is needed," added X user DRIX10 (@DRIX_10_). Another X user Chelsi (@cmchelsimehta) said, "I think this is disrespectful to some extent but understandable."
While this intern gave up his internship to pursue entrepreneurship, a software engineer from Bengaluru 13 job offers to take a six-month internship with Walmart. One year on, she was hired by the company at a salary of Rs 20 lakh per annum.
Speaking to Moneycontrol, the software engineer from Bengaluru said that even though other offers were lucrative and her family was keen on her accepting one of them, Kumari was inspired by her sister to follow her instincts which is why she eventually chose Walmart.
