A Bengaluru woman's complaint of the hard water in the city leading to severe hair loss has sparked a discussion on X. It first started out as an exchange between people who have been facing similar problems in the same city and in different ones, but soon hilarity took over.

A software engineer with Google Amisha Aggarwal on Saturday shared on X, "I need to switch to RO water to wash my hair in Bangalore, else there will be none left. PS: If anyone is using any water-softening solution/filter and has seen results, please share the link."

Responding to her post, when Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair (@zoo_bear) said that he's maintained his full head of hair despite using Cauvery water, Aggarwal wondered if her hair is not acclimatised to Bengaluru weather yet. At the same time, she pointed out that the water quality may change from one place to the other depending upon where it is sourced from.

Others, however, admitted to facing similar problems.

"I also live in Bangalore, where the TDS (total dissolved solids) of the water is 160-170, and the TDS of the filtered water is 50-60. This has affected my hair, leading to premature graying. I believe that the water in my hometown's well is the best, as it contains natural minerals like calcium, which is incomparable to any filtered water," wrote Sinfan (@Sinfan_). " "My hair were lost to 50 percent in Bangalore," added GateKeeper (@GateKeeper2030).
