Efforts are currently underway to rescue a bear that fell into a well in Thiruvananthapuram’s suburban town of Vellanadu in Kerala. According to forest officials, the incident occurred at the house of one Aravind in Vellanadu around midnight on Wednesday when the wandered to the area in search of hens. Upon hearing a noise coming from the well, Aravind rushed outside and was shocked to see the trapped bear.

However, what has caused concern is how the bear reached Vellanadu, which is located about 17 kilometers from the forest area. Locals claim that even wild pigs are rarely spotted in the region, making the bear's appearance quite unusual.

When the bear was spotted hanging on the ring of the well, officials attempted to rescue it. However, things took a turn for the worse after a tranquilizer shot was fired by the local veterinarian. Five minutes after the shot was administered, the bear sank to the bottom of the well. Although three people tried to lift the animal out of the well, they were unsuccessful and had to abandon the effort.
