Tech entrepreneur and age reversal fanatic Bryan Johnson is once again making headlines, this time for a radical new procedure aimed at purging toxins from his body. The 47-year-old millionaire, known for his extreme anti-aging methods, has revealed details of a Total Plasma Exchange (TPE) he recently underwent, calling his plasma so pure that a medical professional “couldn’t bring himself to throw it away.”
Johnson took to social media to share details about the cutting-edge treatment. The procedure, which involves removing all of a person’s plasma and replacing it with a protein called albumin, marks a significant shift from his previous experiments with blood-swapping.
Last year, Johnson had famously exchanged blood with his teenage son in a bizarre attempt to boost vitality—a move that raised eyebrows but reportedly yielded no tangible results.
“The therapy objectives are to remove toxins from my body,” Johnson wrote in a tweet. “The evidence is emergent.”
The procedure, which has been used for medical conditions such as autoimmune disorders and blood-related issues, works by passing a patient’s blood through a machine that filters out the plasma while reinfusing red blood cells along with a replacement fluid like plasma or albumin. Johnson is set to undergo six total treatments as part of this regimen.
Before diving into this latest attempt to stall the natural aging process, Johnson underwent a series of baseline measurements to assess various biomarkers, including his speed of aging, organ health, and levels of toxins. He claimed that his plasma was so pristine that the operator, who has nine years of experience performing TPE, was astonished.
“He said my plasma is the cleanest he’s ever seen. By far,” Johnson said. “When we finished, he couldn’t bring himself to throw it away. He was imagining all the good that it could do in the world.”
Johnson even floated the idea of auctioning off or donating his plasma following future treatments, calling it “liquid gold.”
Johnson has become the poster child for the extreme measures some of the world’s wealthiest individuals are willing to take to delay the aging process. Under the supervision of a team of doctors, he follows an incredibly strict routine that includes daily exercise, a vegan diet, and consuming over 100 supplements a day. His pursuit of youth costs him an estimated $2 million annually.
However, despite his extravagant spending and increasingly experimental procedures, the effectiveness of Johnson’s methods remains uncertain. His earlier plasma swap with his son, whom he bizarrely referred to as his “blood boy,” had no proven benefits.

Johnson had claimed at the time that after the procedure, his father’s “speed of aging dropped by 25 years,” but whether that result was due to the plasma or simply the removal of the older plasma remains an open question.
He concluded his tweet by saying the current procedure took under two hours.
