Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 will have Active Edge—a feature which would allow the phone to respond with a preset function if it is squeezed with hands.
In a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing, the manufacturer of the phone - HTC has revealed that it is bringing the squeezing gimmick to Pixel 2 from its in-house model U11.
The larger of the two upcoming Pixel phone is being manufactured by LG, unlike last year when HTC made both Pixel and Pixel XL. Both the phones will have an almost similar rear design. The smaller phone is likely to have dual front facing speakers, however, both the models are ditching the headphone jack this time as reported earlier.
The phones will run yet to be launched Android O. A sample screenshot in the FCC filing shows the phone running on Android 8.0.1, according to The Verge.

In an earlier leak, it was revealed that the phone would be the first to carry Snapdragon 836 processor which is expected to be about 10 percent faster than Snapdragon 835.
The timing of the FCC filing is similar to last year’s filing for Pixel and Pixel XL. Going by the experience, the phone is expected to be launched by October this year.
