Alarmed by the dipping sales of its compact sedan Honda Amaze after robust from the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda has launched a Privilege Edition of the car.
The new variant is intended to counter the rapid sale of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire which has sold more than 12,000 units in its first full month—June 2017—since its launch.
The Amaze Privilege Edition has been priced at Rs 6.48 lakh for the petrol version and Rs 7.73 lakh for its diesel version (both prices are ex-showroom New Delhi). The price is Rs 10,000 more than its standard version.
This limited run variant comes with a seven-inch touch-enabled infotainment panel with HDMI and USB inputs. In addition, it also supports MicroSD cards and Bluetooth connectivity. Also included is 1.5 GB of storage and voice command feature for navigation and calling.
It also boasts of beige leatherette seat cover and centre arm rest. The seats and body of the car have Privilege Edition emblem. A rear parking sensor has also been added to this variant.
The difference between the new and standard variant is limited to the aesthetics of the car. Mechanically, both—standard and Privilege editions—are same. They both run on either the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol or 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The car comes with dual airbags for safety and with an anti-lock braking system in its diesel variant.
