Google Messages, the default messaging app on Android devices is set to include a new warning message or pop-up that will prevent users from clicking unknown spam or phishing links. This feature will trigger as a warning, whenever you attempt to click on an unknown link from a number not saved on your contacts list.

Since the introduction of RCS messaging standard — , Messages app has made it easier for users to view external media and website links. However, it has had its fair share of problems in recent times as scammers and hackers often send shady or malware links to access the personal data of the users.

According to a report by PiunikaWeb, Google is reportedly testing a new pop-up toggle for its Messages app that will warn users when they attempt to click on links sent by people not in their contact list. This new feature is aimed at providing user safety.
