Electric scooter manufacturing firm Bounce Infinity has partnered with energy infrastructure provider SUN Mobility to deploy over 30,000 Bounce Infinity Scooters in key markets across the country, starting with Bangalore and Hyderabad, and extending to Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi NCR in phases starting February.

SUN Mobility will deploy these 2-wheelers under both the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) models, the firms said in a joint media statement on January 18.

Under the BaaS model, electric vehicle (EV) owners can purchase the EV without the battery, reducing the upfront cost of the scooter. The battery is then provided in the form of a subscription or lease agreement. Similarly, under the MaaS model, scooters will be offered on a subscription basis, with monthly or quarterly rent.

"This collaboration comes at a pivotal moment, as India's electric two-wheeler market is poised to boom, with sales penetration potentially exceeding 80 percent by 2030," Said Vivekananda Hallekere, CEO of Bounce Infinity.
