Apple refutes report that said it has reduced Face ID accuracy to meet demand

Bloomberg in its report, citing sources close to the situation, said that Apple had silently relaxed some of the technical specification for the much publicised Face ID system

Apple on Wednesday disputed a Bloomberg report that said that the company gave a green signal to the suppliers to reduce the accuracy of the iPhone X’s facial recognition system to speed output of the phone.

In a mail, published by Engadget, Apple spokesperson said, “Bloomberg's claim that Apple has reduced the accuracy spec for Face ID is completely false and we expect Face ID to be the new gold standard for facial authentication."

“The quality and accuracy of Face ID haven't changed. It continues to be one in a million probability of a random person unlocking your iPhone with Face ID.”

A report by Bloomberg, citing sources close to the situation, said that Apple had silently relaxed some of the technical specifications for its much-publicised Face ID system.
