Infosys has absolute leadership position in generative AI (Gen AI) and the company has generated three millions lines of codes using large language models (LLMs) in Gen AI, said CEO Salil Parekh on April 18.
Giving an update on the company’s generative AI projects during the company’s Q4 earnings conference, Parekh said, “The type of work we are doing, for instance, the 3 million lines of codes we have generated through large language models in generative AI is absolutely industry leading.”
“The projects and work we are doing with some of our large tech partners…we are working closely with them to make sure their platform works in different environments well, whether it is hardware tech platform or large language model platform. So those are elements we feel extremely good about,” he added without disclosing any numbers on deal pipeline or revenue expected from generative AI.
Parekh said that all of the company’s service lines now include generative AI and the company has been building playbooks of how that can work. “The way we have looked at use cases whether it is software engineering or process optimisation on customer support, advisory support, marketing and sales --- these are detailed use cases which we are working on with clients and we have created quite a good impact,” he said.
This comes at a time when rivals Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Accenture have been actively highlighting their generative AI deal wins.
TCS has doubled it generative AI deal pipeline to $900 million in Q4 alone. The IT major has also trained around 350,000 employees, more than half of its employee base.
Last month, Accenture too reported seeing robust interest on generative AI, with cumulative revenues of $1.1 billion during the first two quarters (Accenture follows September-August financial year). It won Gen AI deals worth $600 million in the second quarter.

Infosys had last updated about its generative AI deal wins during the company’s annual general meeting in June 2023, saying that it had 50 active client projects that are leveraging its Gen AI capabilities.
In the previous quarter Parekh had said that Infosys was seeing strong traction for generative AI programmes leveraging Topaz capabilities that have been integrated into its service line portfolio.
While the traction was good, the company had decided to not publicly share its generative AI revenue.
