West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared on Thursday that she would block the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC), and Uniform Civil Code in the state.

Speaking at a gathering in Kolkata for Eid-ul-Fitr, she cautioned against potential attempts to incite riots during elections and urged attendees to remain vigilant. Banerjee emphasized the importance of unity to resist external threats.

"We will not accept the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, National Register of Citizens, and Uniform Civil Code. If we remain united, nobody will be able to harm us," Banerjee asserted at the Red Road gathering. She reiterated that her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), is primarily opposed to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"We will decide about the INDIA bloc later. But in Bengal, please see that no vote goes to any other party," the TMC supremo said.
