Delhi HC rejects PIL to remove Kejriwal as Delhi CM

The Delhi High Court on March 28 rejected a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to remove Arvind Kejriwal -- who was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the liquor policy case -- as Delhi CM.

The plea was moved by a person called Surjit Singh Yadav.

“While there might be practical difficulties, there is no scope for juridical interference or a legal bar. The executive branch can examine," said the High Court.

The plea stated that "Kejriwal continuing as the CM will not only lead to
obstruction of due process of law and disrupt the course of Justice, but
also would lead to breakdown of the constitutional machinery in the
State."
