Parts of Mumbai could receive heavy rainfall in next 24 hours: IMD

Isolated places in Mumbai could receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a weather update on July 8.

The weather forecaster also said that the next three hours could see moderate spells of rainfall in the city and the suburbs.

Moreover, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared a holiday for all the BMC, government and private schools and colleges in Mumbai municipal limits for today.

BMC in a statement issued in the morning said heavy rain is expected during the day and at around 1:57 pm today, a 4.4 meter high tide is expected in the sea.

The civic body is the richest in the country with a Budget of Rs 59,954 crore for FY25. BMC announced its annual Budget on February 2 and saw the highest allocation ever, with a 10.5 percent increase over the previous financial year.
