The first phase of Mumbai’s much-awaited underground Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, is set to open in October, transforming the commute between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey. The line will halve the travel time to 30 minutes at a fare of under Rs 50, offering relief for commuters taking the congested Western Express Highway.

Launch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to inaugurate the line in early October.

Operational details: The first phase spans 12.44 km, featuring 10 stations with trains running from 6.30 am to 10:30 pm.
