After attending the all-party meeting, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi asked for answers about the security lapses in the Pahalgam terror attack.
He questioned the delay in the absence of CRPF deployment at Baisaran meadow, the site of a deadly terrorist attack, and criticized the delayed response of the quick reaction team.
“Why did it take an hour to reach the site? And why were people shot after being asked about their religion?” he asked, condemning both the terrorists' actions and the alleged profiling during rescue operations.
Owaisi repeated his support for national security measures, saying, “The central government can take action against the nation which shelters terrorist groups. International law permits air and naval blockades in self-defence, and we can also impose arms sanctions on Pakistan.”
He also called for restraint in actions against Kashmiri civilians and students as communal tensions rise.
“The false propaganda against the Kashmiris and Kashmiri students should be stopped,” he said.
Owaisi condemned the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed lives of 26 people. He said, "I condemn the way the terrorists killed people by asking about their religion. We will support whatever decision the central government makes. This is not a political issue."
Owaisi, on a social media post had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite all political parties irrespective of their strength in the Parliament for the meeting.
Later, the AIMIM chief confirmed he would attend the all-party meeting on the Pahalgam terror attack at the Parliament after receiving a phone call invitation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
