The detained guard has been identified as Mohammad Miraj Islam, a jawan of the 60th battalion of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). He was posted at Madla in Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh, NDTV reported citing BSF sources.

Miraj, along with another BGB personnel, intruded nearly 100 metres inside the Indian territory through border gate No. 136-137. BSF personnel noticed the movement and promptly intercepted them. While Miraj was detained, the other intruder managed to escape and cross the border back to Bangladesh, sources told NDTV.
