The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday released the draft electoral rolls of three states and two union territories as part of the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR). These include West Bengal, Rajasthan, Goa, Puducherry and Lakshadweep.
Voters who want to check their name in the draft list can do so by going the website of the Election Commission at voters.eci.gov.in, using the electors photo identity card (EPIC) number. The details are also available at EC’s application, ECINET.
How to check your name with the ECINET app? A step-by-step guide
-Install the ECINET app from Google play store or Apple app store
-Go to the search your name in voter list option
-Click on search by voter ID/EPIC
-Download or share the record
-Alternatively, you can select the “search by bar/QR code” option
-Scan the QR code of the SIR form and thereafter you can download or share the record
What to do if your name is missing from the record?
In case, your name does not appear on the draft rolls published by the Election Commission, you can submit Form-6, along with Annexure-IV to the booth level officer (BLO).
Applicants, who wish to include their names in the draft electoral roll, will be required to attend a hearing called by the commission. They will have to explain why their names could not be linked and submit proof of Indian citizenship as well as voting eligibility.
Over 1 crore electors left out of draft electoral rolls of 3 states, 2 UTs
As many as 12.32 crore electors have found their names in the draft electoral rolls of three states and two Union territories (West Bengal, Rajasthan, Goa, Puducherry, Lakshadweep) published on Tuesday as part of the ongoing special intensive revision as compared to the 13.36 crore people who were part of the voters' list on October 27.
Election Commission officials said the names in the draft electoral rolls also include new voters who had filled up Form 6 to become part of the electorate.
