The RSS chief also referred to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 Indians were killed after being targeted for their religion. "The entire nation was grieving and enraged by the attack. With complete preparedness, our government and armed forces delivered a strong response," he said.

He commended the "commitment of the government," the "bravery of the armed forces," and the "unity of society," which together created an "ideal atmosphere" in the country. He also stressed that the incident revealed who India's true partners were globally. "Even if India maintains friendship with all, it must remain vigilant and strong for its own security. The reactions of various countries during this episode, and our response to it, clearly showed us who our real friends are," he added.

Concerns Over Neighbours, Naxalism and Global Influences

Bhagwat underlined that instability in neighbouring nations, particularly Nepal, should be seen as more than just a security matter. "These are not merely neighbouring countries; they are regions and people who were once part of India. Hence, our concern stems not just from national security but also from shared history and emotional ties," he observed.

On domestic challenges, Bhagwat said the Naxalite movement had lost relevance because its ideology was "harsh and hollow." He noted that society itself rejected it, while combined efforts of security forces and government measures ensured it was swiftly contained.

'Us vs Them' Mindset Has No Place In Society

Bhagwat further said that diversity is India's strength and must be embraced. "Some differences may create discord, but they must be expressed within the framework of law. Provoking communities is unacceptable. The administration must act impartially, and the youth must remain vigilant and intervene when necessary," he said.
