Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his speech in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, during which he detailed Operations Mahadev and Sindoor.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said that the Indian military and security forces played a crucial role in eliminating “cowardly terrorists” within the country.
"In this remarkable speech in the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah Ji gives important details about Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, which have played a vital role in eliminating cowardly terrorists. His address also focuses on our Government's efforts towards keeping our nation secure," he said.
Three terrorists, including the mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack, were killed during Operation Mahadev on Monday in Jammu and Kashmir.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Tuesday that two of the three terrorists killed in Operation Mahadev had Pakistani voter ID cards and were carrying chocolates made in Pakistan.
During a debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, Shah strongly criticised senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram for questioning whether the militants involved in the Pahalgam attack were indeed from Pakistan.
"Where did they come from? Where did they go? Whose responsibility is this? It is our responsibility, but who was accountable for the events that occurred under your rule?" Shah asked. He challenged Chidambaram, the former Home Minister of India, for demanding proof of the terrorists' identities.
