Amid growing concerns about the living conditions of UPSC aspirants in Delhi's coaching hubs, another tragic incident has come to light. A 26-year-old woman named Anjali, from Maharashtra's Akola, was found dead by suicide in her PG accommodation on July 21. The police shared this information on August 3 after a suicide note purportedly written by Anjali surfaced online.

In her moving note, Anjali expressed deep frustration and anguish, writing, “I am sorry Mummy Papa. I am really fed up with life now, and there are just problems and issues with no peace. I need peace. I tried every possible way to get rid of this so-called depression, but I can’t overcome it.” She also highlighted the financial strain, urging the government to “reduce scams in government exams” and “generate employment.”

Anjali criticised the high education and accommodation costs, stating, “PG and hostel rents should also be decreased. These people are just looting money from the students. Not every student can afford it.”

Anjali’s friend reported that she had often spoken about the rising rents of hostels. Her rent had recently increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000, and she was due to vacate her hostel on August 5. In her three-page suicide note, she also requested the government to allow euthanasia and asked her parents to donate her organs.
