Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met the Indian Navy personnel onboard INS Vikrant in Goa on Friday. The visit comes days after India launched precision strikes against terror infrastructure in Pakistan as part of Operation Sindoor. INS Vikrant was deployed as part of the military offensive.
Previously, during the DGMO briefing, Vice Admiral Pramod had said that “Karachi was a target option.” In the photo posted by the defence ministry, Singh is seen with the navy personnel with MIG-29K in the background.

Earlier on Thursday, the defence minister had addressed the flag-in ceremony of INSV Tarini. Lauding the women participation in the armed forces, Singh said that female personnel have performed exceptionally well in every role that has been assigned to them. Indian Navy Women officers - Lt Cdr Roopa A and Lt Cdr Dilna K and – returned home after the successful completion of ‘Navika Sagar Parikrama II’.

“Today, the doors of Sainik Schools are open for girls and 17 women are passing out from National Defence Academy this month. Operation Sindoor witnessed active and effective participation of women in every branch of the Indian Armed Forces,” the defence minister said at the event.
