Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while initiating discussion in Lok Sabha on July 28 (Monday) in the ongoing Monsoon Session said that Pakistan was not able to hit any of the Indian targets and that no important asset was damaged.
Singh said that Indian defence system and electronic warfare completely foiled Pakistan’s attack in India’s response to Pahalgam attack as Operation Sindoor.
He said Indian security arrangements were tight and flawless.
“No important asset of ours was damaged. I am proud to say that our defense system and electronic warfare system completely foiled Pakistan’s attack. Our security arrangements were tight and flawless,” he said in the Lok Sabha.
Singh said India’s security arrangements were “impregnable and every attack was thwarted”.
India paused Operation Sindoor because the predecided political and military objectives were achieved, he told the Lok Sabha.
The defence minister denied any pressure and said that saying that this operation was paused under any pressure is baseless and absolutely wrong
“In my political life, I have always tried not to speak lies ever,” he said.
Talking about Indian security arrangements he said S-400, Akash Missile system, Air Defence guns proved to be very useful and completely foiled this attack by Pakistan.
On Operation Sindoor, he said that Indian actions were entirely in self-defence, neither provocative nor expansionist.
Yet, on May 10, 2025, at approximately 1:30 AM, Pakistan launched a large-scale attack on India using missiles, drones, rockets, and other long-range weapons, he told the Lok Sabha.
He further said that soon after the Pahalgam attack, the Indian Armed Forces took action and hit with precision the nine terrorist infra sites in which more than 100 terrorists, their trainers and handlers were targeted.
“The well-coordinated strikes carried out by our Armed Forces hit 9 terrorist infrastructure targets with precision,” Singh said.
The defence minister said that in this military operation, it is estimated that over a hundred terrorists, their trainers, handlers, and associates were killed and most of these were linked to terrorist organisations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Twenty-six civilians were killed in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, after which India retaliated through precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir(PoK).
The Parliament's Monsoon Session has been witnessing constant adjournments amid uproar over the Opposition's demand for a debate on issues of public importance, including the Pahalgam terror attack and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise of electoral rolls being carried out by the Election Commission in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
