Rahul Gandhi calls Jaishankar 'JJ': 'Who asked Trump to mediate between India & Pakistan'

According to popular perception, Jaichand helped Afghan forces of Muhammad Ghor Ghori  to gain a foothold in India by conspiring to defeat King Prithviraj Chauhan, his arch-rival.

Gandhi had earlier Jaishankar to again clarify whether India had informed Pakistan about targeting the terrorist infrastructure on its soil, and what it had meant in terms of aircraft “lost” by India. Congress media department head Pawan Khera used an AICC briefing to repeat the allegations, adding that Jaishankar’s remarks may have helped terrorists “escape”.

He also had said  Jaishankar's silence "isn't just telling — it's damning".

Gandhi's post also evoked reactions from social media users. One user said, "Surrender Narendra
JaiChand Jaishankar."

In the brief statement issued by the external publicity wing of the MEA, it said - "The external affairs minister had stated that we had warned Pakistan at the start, which is clearly the early phase after Operation Sindoor's commencement. This is being falsely represented as being before the commencement. This utter misrepresentation of facts is being called out."

The remarks came after Rahul Gandhi accused the government of informing Pakistan "at the start" of Operation Sindoor, calling it not just a lapse but "a crime." On May 17, Gandhi posted an undated video clip of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in which he says, “We had warned Pakistan at the start.”

Interpreting this as an admission of prior warning, Gandhi said, “The Modi government informed Pakistan before the strikes. This isn’t a mistake—it’s betrayal.” The BJP quickly hit back, accusing the Congress MP of twisting facts for political gain.

“Rahul Gandhi’s daftness is not merely incidental — it is sinister. He is speaking the language of Pakistan,” said BJP leader Amit Malviya in a post on X.

The Centre has maintained that India acted with resolve and strategic clarity during Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan. The BJP has accused the Congress of undermining national interest and morale by politicising the operation.
