PM Modi in Kashmir today, first visit after Pahalgam attack: Full itinerary

A high security alert has been sounded across Jammu and Kashmir with senior police, paramilitary officers, army and intelligence officers personally monitoring the situation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday will visit Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. A multi-tier security setup has been put in place for the PM’s visit to inaugurate the much-awaited Kashmir rail link and also dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over Rs 46,000 crore.

The Prime Minister’s visit is in line with his commitment to boost rail infrastructure and connectivity in the Union Territory, the PIB release stated.

At 11 am, he will inaugurate the Chenab bridge and then the Anji Bridge. The Anji Bridge, India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge, aims to serve one of the country’s most geographically challenging terrains, further enhancing J&K’s rail connectivity.
