PM Modi, Amit Shah to attend Raipur DGP-IGP meet on internal security and anti-Naxal strategy

PM Modi's presence will mark his second visit to Chhattisgarh in less than a month; he had earlier participated in the State Foundation Day events on November 1.

The all-India gathering of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police will take place in Chhattisgarh from November 28 to 30, with major themes such as internal security, cyber challenges, drug trafficking, border issues, counter-terror measures, and approaches to tackle Left Wing Extremism set to dominate the discussions, reported ANI. Officials noted that this is the first time the three-day national-level security meet is being hosted in Raipur.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to open the 60th edition of the conference at the Marine Drive complex in New Raipur, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the concluding session. According to ANI sources, the PM’s schedule could be adjusted “as per the situation.”

The event will draw senior police leadership from across India, with participants expected to evaluate strategies and share field experiences.

According to officials familiar with the agenda, “the conference will deliberate on key issues related to internal security, including strategies to combat Left Wing Extremism (Naxalism), counter-terrorism efforts, drug control, cyber security, and border management.”
