The Indian Army's robotic dog - Sanjay - made an impressive debut at the Republic Day parade in Kolkata, capturing the attention of dignitaries and the audience alike. These cutting-edge robotic dogs, part of the MULE (Multi Utility Legged Equipment) series, showcased their versatile capabilities, marking a significant technological milestone.

Designed as all-weather ground robots, the 'Sanjay' robotic dogs are equipped for a range of operations, including explosives detection and disposal, surveillance, perimeter security, and asset protection. They are also prepared for operations in chemical, biological, and nuclear warfare environments. These robots can navigate challenging terrains such as climbing stairs, and steep hills, and overcoming obstacles, enhancing their utility in diverse operational scenarios.

To date, the Indian Army has inducted 100 'Sanjay' robotic dogs into its various units, significantly improving operational efficiency in critical areas.

The Republic Day parade, held on Kolkata's Red Road, featured an array of impressive displays, with contingents from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, West Bengal Police, Kolkata Police, Rapid Action Force, and the Disaster Management Group. West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose unfurled the national flag, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee participated in the festivities.
