In a special briefing held by the Ministry of External Affairs, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army shared a video showing how the weapons of the Indian Army destroyed Pakistani assets at the LoC. The video was dated May 9, 2025.
During the same press briefing, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh also shared pictures in a bid to foil Pakistani propaganda that said that Pakistan has been able to destroy air bases in India. The pictures showed several air bases across India completely intact, thus proving Pakistan wrong.
MEA further said that all the locations in the country are safe and the armed forces are taking appropriate steps to neutralise all the threats from Pakistan.
Qureshi, while briefing the nation, said that Pakistan has employed fighter jets, drones, long-range weapons and loitering munitions to target various localities in the country, ranging from Srinagar to Pathankot.
She further confirmed that Pakistan also resorted to air intrusion, adding that the healthcare facilities of air bases in Awantipur and Srinagar were also targeted.
The MEA said that the Indian armed forces launched retaliatory strikes on eight Pakistani airbases in the early hours of Saturday.
"Following Pakistan’s deliberate targeting of Indian air bases, the Indian armed forces executed a swift and meticulously planned retaliatory strike. Our forces specifically targeted Pakistan’s technical installations, command and control centres, radar sites, and arms depots," Colonel Qureshi added.
Earlier, visuals of explosions in several areas of Jammu and Punjab had surfaced, showing the damage due to drone debris in the areas. A complete blackout was ordered for Jammu and Jalandhar after drones were spotted in the area in the early hours of Saturday.
