‘Many parties keep on coming’: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on brother Tej Pratap Yadav announcement of contesting from Mahua

RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday responded to brother and expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav’s announcement to contest Bihar assembly polls as an Independent from Mahua seat.

Speaking to the reporters, Tejashwi Yadav said, “many parties keep on coming”, when asked about his brother Tej Pratap Yadav's statement "I will contest the assembly election from Mahua seat".

Also asked if the RJD would lift the liquor ban in the state if the Mahagathbandhan comes to power, he said, "We will discuss with intellectuals. A decision on this will be taken later.”

On Saturday, Tej Partap Yadav announced that he will contest from Mahua seat. He said, "Team Tej Pratap Yadav is a platform to reach the people. This time, Uncle (Nitish Kumar) will not become the Chief Minister. Whoever's government is formed, if they talk about youth, employment, education, and health, Tej Pratap Yadav will stand with them with full strength. We will contest the election from Mahua; there are many opponents, they have started to feel the itch.”

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in May expelled Tej Pratap from the party for six years for “irresponsible behaviour”, and has also disowned him from the family. Lalu Prasad made the announcement in a post on X.
