Amid rising Pakistani shelling, a senior government official died in Rajouri, while two of his staff members were critically injured, officials said on May 10.

They were rushed to the Government Medical College. Thapa succumbed to his injuries while the condition of his staff members is stated to be critical, according to the officials.

J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah condoled Thapa's death.
