Delhi Metro Latest News: Blue Line, one of the busiest routes of the Delhi Metro, faced massive disruptions in morning on Thursday. The reason? Cable theft. As per the official statement by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the services were delayed on Blue Line due to cable theft between two stations – Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar.
The DMRC in its post on X said that the issue of cable theft will be resolved only after the last service of the Delhi Metro has ended. Hence, the restoration work will take place in night on Thursday. The officials of Delhi Metro have requested the passengers to keep the delay in mind as the journey will take more time than usual period.
The services between Vaishali and Dwarka Sector 21 via Noida Electronic City were extremely slow as the cable theft impacted the signaling. At present, the DMRC is running the trains at a restricted speed, which has resulted in bunching.
The Blue Line connect crucial areas such as Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Rajiv Chowk, Noida Sector 16, Yamuna Bank and Noida Sector 18, where several offices are located. Due to the morning rush, people faced inconvenience with many stranded on stations for longer period.
Meanwhile, in another development, the DMRC on Wednesday completed the longest underground tunnel. The underground tunnel is part of Phase-IV metro expansion. This tunnel is located between Tughlakabad Airforce Launching Shaft and Maa Anandmayee Marg on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor of.
