Delhi airport on April 18 issued an advisory for passengers citing "shifting wind pattern in the vicinity of the airport", which could lead to flight delays.
Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) said shifting wind patterns near the airport have prompted authorities to implement air traffic flow management measures. Passengers have been advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules
"Due to shifting wind pattern in the vicinity of the airport, certain airline operations may experience delays. Air traffic flow management measures for flight arrivals will be implemented from 1230 IST till 1630 IST today by ATC authorities to ensure safe operations, in accordance with international and regulatory protocols, keeping passenger safety as the highest priority," said IGIA in a statement posted on X platform.
"All other operations across terminals and three runways at Delhi airport continue to function normally. Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding," the airport further said.
Earlier this month, many flights were delayed and cancelled at the Delhi airport due to inclement weather conditions. The national capital had witnessed strong dust storms and gusty winds.
