The novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic has spread across 183 countries. Today is the 13th day of India's 21-day lockdown. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India stands at 4,067. The Union Health Ministry has said that 109 people have died due to the virus.
Globally, there have been over 12.7 lakh confirmed cases of COVID-19. At least 69,500 people have died so far. Cases continue to rise in the United States, Spain, Italy, Germany and France, among others. The outbreak is having a major impact on global economy and the stock market. Wockhardt Hospitals, in a statement on the nurses and doctors who tested positive for Coronavirus has said that it is "the hard truth that healthcare professionals all over the worldon the front line are at the highest risk of contacting the COVID-19 infection whilst treating patients".
"We are treating all our staff, isolating those in contact, and sanitising the facility in line with BMC. We care deeply for our patients and our people," the statement said.
Over 40 nurses from Kerala working at the hospital had tested positive for COVID-19. Overall, over 53 medicos, including doctors working at the hospital, have tested positive.

Kalyan Jewellers today announced that it will be supporting the daily wage worker community from the Gems and Jewellery industry as well as the Film industry, in association with Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘We Are One’ initiative that aims to support 1,00,000 families.
On its part, Kalyan Jewellers will provide 50,000 households with monetary relief during these tough times.
For the ‘kaarigars’ or artisans and the daily wage workers who are part of the gems and jewellery industry, Kalyan Jewellers has launched the ‘Goldsmith Relief Fund’ and will be working closely with Jewellery Manufactures Association (Kerala), Coimbatore Jewellers Association and Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (Mumbai). The fund will be used to provide relief material and monetary assistance to the daily wage workers.
